Door Part 1

You've seen my job, now see it in 3D using Autocad 2007 and some paintbrush work!:)

This is the door as you have seen in my previous post (remember the one in red primer). This is supposedly the finishing color, and fully assembled. However, this is done in a computer. In reality, some of the doors are yet to be completed. So next time if you board a ship and notice some weird device like this on a door, remember this!!=)

Anyways, here's a closer look at one of the components. It's called a toggle finger. For this type of door (weathertight), it takes four (4) toggle fingers to lock the door leaf up to the frame. Four toggle fingers and two (2) swivel plates make the whole mechanism and door known as the four dog door (why dog I don't know, and the components don't resemble a dog).

There are other components yet that are still to be drawn and modeled. These pictures are only for personal usage, not for submission to clients and such. Well, hopefully these information / pictures will be useful for you guys in the future when you board a ship.

Time to sleep!
